25th May 2010 - ASH Locksmiths achieve SAFEContractor Accreditation!
We are pleased to announce that with effect from 17th May 2010 ASH Locksmiths has achieved SAFEContractor accreditation in recognition of reaching the SAFEContractor health & safety standards. We are very proud to have successfully joined this leading edge scheme designed to help industry improve its safety record.
ASH Locksmiths application for SAFEContractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business. SAFEContractor is relevant to all sectors although it is particularly relevant to property, facilities management, retail & leisure sectors, all of which are big users of contract services.
Darran Hughes; Operations Director of SAFEContractor said, "Major organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health & safety policies. More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that ASH Locksmiths have done. The firms high standard has set an example which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector."

We have just completed a job for a local school where our client had specific requirements to remove the outer door handles and cover existing holes in the door with push plates and blanking plates. We were required to change the locks to thumb turns and fit new handles and push plates on the inner doors thus not only making the doors more aesthetically pleasing must most importantly improving the security of the school whilst maintaining the function of the doors. Here are some of the before and after pictures:
